I got acquainted with The Goo Goo Dolls in 2007, when the first 'Transformers' movie came out. The song was 'Before it's too late', which played in the background on the official movie website. That song is like just awesome!! It's still on my playlist :)
Then I went on to find more Goo Goo Dolls songs. Some awesome ones are Iris, Slide and Home.
Even the new release, 'All that you are', from 'Transformers: Dark of the Moon', is a good one.
